Waiting for Daddy

Alayna can’t wait for her Dad to be in Hong Kong and is more than ready for the Scandinavian trip! 2 more days to go!!

While in Hong Kong, we’ve so far been to Disneyland, a couple of museums, met up with friends and family and of course did a bit of shopping.

Latest favourite – the Charlie Brown Cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Nothing like her

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face this evening. When I walk out, my daughter shouts “Surprise” I’m glad it didn’t take me more than a second to see that she had changed her clothes all by herself! Even her T-shirt…: this was the first time ever. I could see the twinkle in her eyes. And she did that just for me. To make me happy. For my smile.

I don’t think I have ever felt more pride. I am so blessed to have her. These little minds are capable of giving us the best moments of our lives – usually at the most unexpected times. I love her to bits. πŸ™‚

A wiser daughter…or mother?

This is the first time my daughter and I are traveling without her dad. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but I could picture us pulling each others’ hair out. But on the contrary, she seems to have grown into a wiser little girl all of a sudden. And when I told someone that, they said, it could also be because you have grown as a mother. I have no choice but to be there for her the whole time till her dad joins us on the weekend!

Been a long while…

I didn’t even remember I had this site. It feels like a lifetime away. 4 years ago…

So much has changed since then.

I am a mother now. My life from the time I wrote my last post has become of a completely different person.

I looked back and some posts and I wonder what I was going on about. Becoming a parent changes you inside and out. Your priorities change, you judge less, appreciate more, become less selfish, your lookout on life is different and you become that tad bit wiser.

I’m still dealing with emotional rollercoasters like before but I am learning.

A nice quote on Criticism

We have all been criticized and most probably criticized someone. Sometimes it can pinch us at the wrong spot. I came across this quote and thought maybe we shouldn’t take criticism so hard after all.

β€œThe motive behind criticism often determines its validity. Those who care criticize where necessary. Those who envy criticize the moment they think that they have found a weak spot.”
